In no way is guild wars a rival of warcraft, first of all guild wars does not have anywhere near the users of WoW, also guild wars does not have the expansive content of wow, but if GW is such a big rival of WoW and you want warcraft banned, wouldnt it make sense for them to also ban GW?

This stuff happens wayyyyy more than people think. I have younger brother who is strung out on WOW, and it gets bad sometimes. Mostly though my mom likes it because she can get him to do anything if she threatens to take the game away lol!

I can somewhat understand the addiction though as I am an avid online gamer.

I would agree that Guild Wars is not really competition for WOW, but if I had to name a rival/competitor for GW, it would be all of the Everquest series, especially EQ2 and now Vanguard.

We play EQ2 and lurves it hee hee. We tried WOW, but the game and crowd playing it was a lot younger and simpler which we didn;t care for. I can understand the appeal of it to a lot of people though.

This has already been on CNN and all the other bunch of news channels. WOW is THE MOST ADDICTIVE GAME period. I don't play it, I haven't played any online games in years (unless you consider online poker... which i play everyday). My old classmate plays the game insane...like 36 hours straight over the weekend, it's sick. I wonder how much blizzard? (if thats the right company) put into the game to make it addictive. I can almost understand why it's so addictive... I heard it was something about how the game continues playing if you are or are not there. I've seen WOW gold on ebay for $500+... insane to say the least.
