whoah.

I have a friend in england who is a train driver and he had a guy jump out in front of him one day. The sucky part is that his job demands that he confirms the aftermath: i.e. stops the train (well duh!), and then goes back to confirm if the hit person is killed.

I guess it makes sense, but the poor bugger had to go back and examine something like what this video shows ... except the head was further down the track and off the body.

Suicide is a long term solution to a short term problem. I recently heard a good, Boston-Irish comic say onstage, "Whenever I feel depressed, I get a bottle of whisky and a big cigar, and I go to a cemetery and just walk around among the headstones. I figure, no matter how bad I've got it, I'm doing better than these guys."

yeah you are right... and it is so egoist!! doing that to your family, friends and even the poor guys who have to drive the train... and often for a crappy reason like being dropped by your girl/boyfriend and so on.. life is too easy for a lot of people!

No matter when you go, somebody will have to clean up after you, suicide or not. I guess dying in bed is a lot less messier though.

Was this an EMO kid?

Probably not, they don't have the balls to go through with it. Emo at most is pseudo-suicidal, and jumping off a two story building, cuting your arms and other self-mutilating injuries doesn't prove someone is suicidal, it just proves they're desperate for attention.

Of course, the only people who are truly suicidal are no longer here with us. Pass the word on to those emo shitstain losers, stop the bullshit.

People always say this because it's a lack of understanding. To do something like this obviously means that the fella was ill. He had no control over what he was feeling, obviously, and in the end no control over what he was doing. When you're sick, it's hard to rationalise and remember how you felt when you were well.

Most people agree with one of you. That anyone who commits suicide must have been either a despicable coward, or a victim of mental illness who should be helped whether they want it or not. I would have to disagree. The thing is, this guy's life belonged to him. It didn't belong to his loved ones. It didn't belong to "society" or the State. It didn't belong to recognized mental health professionals. His life belonged to HIM and no one else; so if he chose to end it, regardless of the reason why, what right does ANYONE else have to stand in his way or pass moral judgment on him for it?

I'm not saying that killing yourself is a good idea. Just that if it's the choice that someone makes, then it's his business, not yours or mine or anyone else's.

not too quick, cuz usually if the train sees you about to jump they hit the breaks which causes a slow sliding motion, no longer a grinding so it's actually quite slow. Some kid jumped the tracks near my school back when i was in high school. Yeah, there was multiple stretchers it was pretty disturbing.

You have bad eyes. That's his arm. The skin was still attached with the shoulder area.

The spine is attached to the skeleton, such as the ribs. There's no way it would come loose from the body.

caspersuicide
August 9th, 2007, 07:11 PM
ehhh it could've been a real body but to me the whole arms thing looked a little prostetic. you can go on the internet and find places to order prostetics and shit for movies that look so realistic. i love how videos like this are always so grainy you can't see any detail at all. also if a train had ran a man over at that angle it would've torn his body in half at the point of impact with the track. not just flattened it and cut through the upper torso. but whatever only the people who filmed it and were present at the time know if it was real or not.

But as for the guy who has to clean this shit up, it probably fuckin sucks xD
Then again hes probably seen a hell-of-a lot worse.

It's his right? You don't think that this is going to affect other people? The guy who was at the controls of the train probably had a pretty shitty week or so after that. The people who had to clean it up, don't want to have to think about that when they get home. The family that had to identify the body were probably scarred for life. Killing yourself is a selfish thing to do. The least you could do would be to minimize the gore and clean up, and for god sakes don't put yourself in front of something that someone else is in control of. What if he had thrown himself in front of your car? Yeah, we all know it wouldn't be your fault, but you'd feel like this.
