my only question,,, why?

That's cool. :xyxthumbs: One thing about the dark background is you kinda' loose the wings.
I'm thinking, sitting up high on a stone pillar or castle wall with the sky and countryside as a background, ( still dark and looming but lighter than the black ) it might help the wings 'pop' a bit.
Just my two cents.

my only question,,, why?
Why not? ;D I've had the idea in my head for a while. was bored so i started making it. also i want to to broaden my style and try new things for my portfolio
Thx nanabunga and i totally agree and even had the idea of adding a stone pillar, thing is i couldn't find a fitting picture at all. and got bored looking. i'll maybe ad some more to it tommorow

Excellent artwork Busta. I reckon leave the background a darkish colour when you redo it- otherwise the dark wings may be too prominent. As it is they're knd of subtle.
What techniques and applications did you use to make the image?

hah yeah it is actually, I'm a canvas printer so it is literally fulll of it, i mean like not only on the walls but scattered around my room, under my bed and piles of glicee prints in a organised mess

Yeah i completely agree. as for techniques (all in photoshop CS3). at first it was a case of making the 'exit points' for the wings, i cut out the woman, made her into a layer and with a round brush, made the openings on her back, i then added the effects and /blood. torn skin etc . Then i started with the left wing,I cut out this part of the bird sculpture

and duplicated it, flipped it, cut out certain 'feathers' etc. this is about 20 mins into editing.:

and i just worked on it from there. I decided to add the tubes at the end because i wanted it to be more 'bionic' looking

Yeah that's pretty dope with the background added. Something with a darker, maybe purplish-reddish sunset scene would look really good too.
What programs do use to edit with?
