David Blaine, Chris Angel, David Copperfield all use this same type of "magic" with actors and accomplices.

I saw a trick like this with chris angel when he walked through glass.
with angel's audience i just wish they would have the people rehearse better. They suck when they pretend to be amazed.

This is one of those tricks that you don't even need explained though. I mean how else could it have all gone down? Wooo magic! :1orglaugh:

A trick would actually be amazing if you can go there and see it for yourself and still be left wondering. That's what separates magicians like Houdini from hack magicians who use a fake audience and camera tricks.

Clever.

It actually is very clever. It's one of those money-makers that you know is fake, but you can't figure out why it's fake so it interests you.

It's kind of like The Prestige :)

That's how they speak in England:smilie_flagge3: . There's an entire country that speaks that way.

Just so you know, as a lot of people confuse the two, Houdini was an escape artist, not a magician.

probably easy to do with actors, no one would mind a green screen or crane

He did it with plexiglass. The video is here somewhere.

Magic isn't real? Damn. The voice was annoying, but a hole in the side of a fishtank and he could keep the water from pouring out by holding it with a blue cloth? Does that even seem remotely logical? A sliding glass panel, and nothing leaks?? WTF!

I think it was a burp!

Interesting rig though, I think there is more to it that this. The tank looked like a plexi-glass tank with rounded corners, the sand did not move up with the glass panel at the time that it should have. I think the guy is totally wrong about the glass circle that he pushes up, if any thing more like a valve similar to what you use to inflate a raft.

I'm going to New York in September with school and there's a little competition on the first night of performing your own magic/party trick, and the prize is something relating to New York. I was wondering if anyone had any stunning magic/party trick ideas or even links to show me examples! It doesn't have to be original, although I would like it to be, but the more amazing. Any brilliant magic/party trick ideas will appreciate.

we all know "magic" isn't real you retards.
the disappointing thing about fags like chris angel is anyone capable of using a video camera and rounding up some fake ass actors could do what they do.
the really good magic shows are the ones where you are looking right at the magician and he some how tricks you with his cunning and planning. camera edits is NOT the same.
