As for 2008 I am currently wearing ONLY a black and white with burgundy plaid PJ pants with the tag on the ass reading: "Urban Rage XL/TG" then "CA#28021 100% Cotton/100% Coton Made in Bangladesh Fabrique Au Bangladesh"...And they have a nifty piss hole with a brown and dark brown marble like button. Arthur C. Clarke wrote 2001 A Space Odyssey, but the space race has not taken us that far really. We've only been to the moon if you exclude the probes we've sent into our solar system to look at our nearest planetary neighbours. It could take us thousands of years to match the dream of many SciFi authors. Science has just not advanced far enough and the funding needed would be astronomical.
