I think people who exceed the speed limits by such massive amounts forget that even if you are skilled enough to control a vehicle at these speeds other drivers on the road don't expect you to be going so fast and may cut/turn in front of you thinking they have sufficient time/distance.

This is a common cause of accidents while people are speeding. Sadly, one of my apprentices died in an accident like this last year.

On the video: I think these people generally do know that they could be killed easily at that speed. They must get the same kind of thrill out of that as I do when free climbing rock, that they are risking life and limb for an adrenaline rush. However, I would never pick something with so many variables from -other- people to get my kicks out of.

I think it's well known by now that I consider people in general to be ego-centric, oblivious, droolingly imbecilic retards, no matter -how- smart some of them can be.
