Hope has now decided to strip on Friday nights for extra cash...
she's having trouble keeping the change in her garter since no one has any dollar bills to give her.

Yup!
You can see the pinch all over.
We seem to be doing all right where I work.
We are at about 10% over planned and should get a nice 6 month profit sharing check.
BUT I do see the Contractors that come in and have very little or no work.
My department is down 1 full timer and 2 part timers, with no plan to replace them.
Things are tough out there. I guess I will have to Kiss more Azz to keep my job.

Everyone knew the economy was going to be pure shit in 2009. Don't worry though, the economy will soon be back stronger than ever. What is this, the 500th time this has happened in U.S. History? We will bounce back, we always do. Either that, or someone will fuck around and invent A.I., and then Skynet will skullfuck all of us.

Unemployment looks to hit 3 milion here in the UK. Looks like things are going to get worse before they get better, on the news housing sales are supposed to be increasing but that's all you hear on the news is job loses. I was made redundant from my factory in February of this year and there is very little about job wise. Just hope things will get better pretty soon.

I hope you're right, and I try to have the same outlook...
But...we didn't have the financial structure in America on the brink of collapse, and have all these banks and mortgage companies going under those 500 other times.
This is only the second recession that I can remember living through as an adult...which means, this is your first.

Unemployment is high now, but wait until that new minimum wage kicks in. Who in the hell thought that now was a good time to implement that? Businesses are suffering from an economic downturn. I have an idea. Let's force them to pay higher wages for their most meaningless jobs.
And if you think that 9.5% is bad, you should look at the U6 number. It's at 15.9%. The U6 is the unemployment number that includes part time workers who want to work full time, but cannot due to economic reasons.
Obama's proposed tax increases on the rich will hurt unemployment worse because many small business who haven't incorporated have to file their taxes as their business. Their business, and their personal income are the same. If you're a small business owner, and your business has over $230,000 worth of income you probably have a rent or mortgage payment for your house and your business. You also have loans to cover vehicles, and other capital expenditures. If you bail on those, you make the housing market worse and downgrade your business or living standard. Most business will do everything in their power to maintain these things, which means trying to get more work out of fewer employees.
