These oil tycoons are getting filthy rich off the people. Another question, Who made someone the sole owner of the natural resources which are in "OUR" planet?... We should only pay drilling companies and workers for our oil, gas and other natural resources. Am I worng? Some one please explain to me

Where are you from? I know fuel is very cheap in america compared to alot of places. Its really heavily taxed in great britain.

Anyway, its not cheaper but its running out, and is damaging the enviroment.

Buy a hybrid. I'm absolutely 100% fucking serious. I'm sick of watching GWBush and Co. get rich off this war, and kids like my brother die fighting in it. The math is simple quit using oil=the wars will end.

The thing is that AMERICA is so addicted to oil, change is hard. There must be something we can do... by the way, I'm from Texas and the gas is almost $3.00 a gallon. Fuckin bastards are running my savings lower and lower everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear the gas companies are only making nine cents in profit per gallon. And that's barely keeping them going.

I think we're all hurting. We need new fuel sources. And OPEC needs a swift kick in the ass.

To answer the first question , Fuck Knows
Where can I find this 'Fuck'? I would like to ask him

I pay about $1.6 per gallon. :)

So far there is no feasible alternative to oil, but it will likely come soon.

If that is true, than why did they (the oil companies) post over $25 Billion in profits the last Two Quarters? EXXON alone posted that much profit in one quarter!

That to me is a lot of profit on only .09 cents/Gal !!!!!!!!!
That is why we must pass the "Windfall Tax". That is a higher tax on profits generated at a time like this where the demand for fuel is increasing and cost is even higher. Logically, the oil companies should feel like they were being bent "over the ol' Oil Barrel" and taking it up the ass like the rest of us. But they are not! Instead they are floating high in the water with record breaking profits.
You say "But they only make .09 cents/Gal !...." True! But they used to make about .05 cents/Gal a couple of years ago!
Now who is bending whom over the barrel!

Well it costs oil companies $2 per gallon. They sell it for what is it now? $72?
You do the calculations.

Before anyone says anything I know it is not as simple as I made it look. But it does give you a picture of how much money is being made.

You Can't!
At Friday's close, I believe Crude was $70.19 U.S./barrel (a barrel is considered to be 55 gal/U.S.)
The profit can never be figured exactly because it is possible to divide the base crude into so many uses or products and byproducts.
It is not just Gasoline, Heating Oil, Diesel Fuel or Kerosene that comes from a barrel of crude. But the byproducts that you get when producing these items. Such as plastics for toys, cars, furniture, etc..., Styrofoam and other foam products for insulating and that cup you drink your coffee, tea or soda out of, man made fabrics for clothing and furniture products, and of course building materials, just to name a few.
The margin of profit can only be determined by knowing cost of materials, cost of production, cost of dispersal or distribution then subtracting from the wholesale cost of the object. Then the wholesaler tacks on his cost to move the fuel to stations and pump it to the retailer.
And all that does not count the items made and sold as a result of the byproducts of production!
All I know, is someone is making a lot of money off the common man.

I want to find that Exxon retired CEO who just got the 70 million dollar retirement packge for basically fucking americans out of an extra dollar at the pump and put him on trial for extortion. Then one the way to the trial I want some poor persons to shoot him in the guts.

It's disgusting how these pigs have gotten fithy rich off us. If we didn't have Bush & Co. in office right now I wouldn like to pretend the rat bastards would be defending themselves in a Senate hearing, but that's only me pretending...

I can't wait to vote out these neo-cons in Nov. VOTE kids.

Yeah, it's always the president's fault when parts of the economy lose their luster. He can control everything about it.

Honestly, I don't think it's due to his attacking Iraq and Afghanistan. OPEC actually tried to impose an embargo with oil on the US in the 70s, and it ended up fucking themselves up the ass. I think there's more behind the price of gas going up, and it may have something to do with "depleted resources" in the "middle east."

they also say that the way that some of the oil is extacted from the desert in saudi, by pumping in water at high pressure, (and we all know how oil floats on water) and then getting the oil at the top. Well some leading scientists also say that some of these cowboys getting a quick dollar over there have done a quickie and fucked up alot of the remaining oil left in these wells.
And l don't know why Americans are complaining about the price of petrol. l just spent a year in the UK and Europe and petrol is like double the price to what it is in the USA. In Oz it's creeping towards the $2.00 line to. Americans, fucken deal with the price, everyone else has to!!!!

High octane crude oil distillate.

Old thread is carbonaceous... just like that stuff in your tank that you're burning to get from A to B.

All oil comes from plants that lived prior to the evolution of cellulose digesting enzymes in bacteria... once it's gone it's gone for good.
