All of my family's dogs have died naturally, at more than ten years of age except for one who died under anaesthetic while being neutered. Fortunately, none have been afflicted with chronic disease.

One of our cats just stopped eating one day- this was ten years ago. Susie didn't seem in pain or anything, she was just lethargic. After a few days mum told my sister and I, and we visited mum to say goodbye to the cat. The next day mum took the cat to be put down; she was 19 years old.

I hope your dog had a long and happy life OFS.

Those are Icelanders. In Sweden, some people eat fermented herring (I have never). In my day, I have eaten some weird stuff, ranging from Gambian Pouched Rat, to Warthog, to snails, to creepy-looking larvae. I couldn't eat a dog for the simple reason that they don't look too tasty and because dogs are not on my list of edible creatures. It just seems wrong.
