I do not understand the need to leave the forum because of video. If you are offended by it, then be pro-active, and atleast ASK one of us to put up a Poll so that we can an idea on what everyone thinks about it. You guys should by now that we are more than willing to help members, especially if some people take moral offense to something like this.

I received no contact from anyone about this, only a surprise post from a Moderator who wants to leave.

I know personally that I am not willing to lose members, especially Staff members, over any one offensive video. I expected a little more than this, maybe someone atleast PM'ing me about it in order to see what we can do to help fix this.

But Jon, having a video that attacks another persons belief/religion IMO does not require a poll for deletion. I do understand that the videos randomly gets posted to the front page, but having a program/codes that screens for word and filters the content from being posted will suppress the flame war.

Correct, what I meant by what said though was even the mention of a Poll would've been more inclination that someone was highly offended and would've allowed me and T.G. to help remedy and correct the problem. TO be honest, I didnt even know the video existed until I saw Ann's post in the Mod. room about how she was jetting. It was quite a surprise to me. I mean, no warning or mention of it whatsoever.

And I also agree with Longbob. I know Ann is above this, and maybe with less emotion and more thought process, she will reconsider, and stay to help fix things such as this, which is why she was offered a Mod position in the first place. We all agreed she had alot to offer. But I feel let down that she wants to just jet on us, especially without alteast a PM to any of us first.

Why just give up and leave instead of help to clean up this type of shit like we know she wants to do, and CAN do? I don't get it....

Personally, I feel that what this person is doing is wrong! BUT, then again I feel that the "photographic art" of Andres Serrano is in extremely poor taste but it still receives world attention and tours of the worlds museums. I do not agree with displays of a Crucifixion of Christ in a Jar of Urine nor do I consider it "Art". But not only is it allowed but people pay to see it and then protest what they have seen.
I do not agree with the burning of the American Flag and it Boils my Blood when I see it....but I must allow it!
I myself can not get in an "uproar" over someone defacing or being disrespectful of a Holy Book when I have found both the "Holy Koran" and the "Holy Bible" tossed onto dashboards, on top of rear seats, shoved between front seats and consoles, thrown into car trunks or pushed under front seats or in the glove box of cars that have been Repossessed. This was not done by one of the re-possessor's, this was done by people who follow the faith. A blatant disregard for their own "Holy Book"

I understand your point/decision etc., but you seem to be the only mod with this perspective, and I would suggest that you do a bit of campaigning with the higher ups if it's affected you as you say it has.

I'd ask the Christians on this site what their response would have been were a Bible being burnt. I'd also cite this video as being completely derelict of the sort of artistic disposition the authors I believe were intending. Personally, I'd have taken my national flag, the Bible, the Koran and stuck them in the melting pot together...but clearly these guys aint got the capacity to truly understand what it is they're trying to say in the first place. :roll:

The big deal IMO is that sure, it's nothing compared to some of the ridiculous, nasty, immoral, terrible videos we watch on here sometimes however, they have a point. That point may be to gross you out, make you say "what idiots", shock you, or get you feeling sexy, the point i'm making is they have a purpose. This video is........propoganda. There is no real basis to it, you either agree with what they're doing or you don't. If he only burned the book and said nothing it would be boring, huh? The person staring in this video made it perfectly clear that he thought Islamics were just a bunch of terrorist not to mention, he didn't say it, but he's probably a racist.

I think Clouds's problem lies with the administration, who would post such a pointless despicable video. I can't much blame her, one can not be a branch of something (in this case a mod) if they don't agree with the other branches ( the videos) cause they're both apart of the same tree ( filecabinet). I don't think she wants to be associated with something that goes against her morality. it's quite commendable IMO.

I might not accept Middle Eastern religions, but I am certainly not delusional enough to believe that every one person who may follow Islam is out to get me. That must be some pretty severe paranoia man, I would get checked out for that. Thats not very mentally stable/balanced in my opinion.
