i will not play anykind of Massive Multiplayers Games, i tried to play Oblivion and it was taking a lot of time and effort. The only game i *had* to finish was Baldur's Gates 2, and i would spend nights cracking that game up.

The report is fake, but yes there are people who play MMO games for 16 hours, but never at a daily basis. People have jobs, which is the main reason why MMOs arent meant for stupid teenagers and kids. MMOs arent like drugs when you can just hide them from your parents, but its a whole fucking desktop the parent can simply take away!

This kid is one of few european addicts , I mean come on....16 hours? THats just bad parenting no doubt , sure the kid loves the game but damnit its easy to stop him from playing. I play the game and im 21 years old , I have a job and all I do in the game is raiding end game instances from 6 PM to maybe 11 Pm ( tops ) 2-3 times a week , that maybe seems a bit much for some but its not , its totally controlable. Its mainly asians or people below 18 that get this kind of hooked when its seriously bad for you. Parents has the most responsibility , STOP PAYING ffs if you see your kid getting addicted or whatever. I've been a gamer my whole life. I had my first job when I was eight. I cleaned out grease buckets and coffee ground buckets in my neighborhood deli--the owner gave me quarters which I promptly pumped into the video games there. I used to play in Mortal Kombat tourneys and beat all the Asian kids when it first came out (in my old stomping grounds the Asian gang was the best). I've owned every gaming system since pong up to the XBOX and PS2. I made the switch to PC and online gaming when Counter-Strike source came out. I played a little Day of Defeat (the original) when it first came out, but it was on a crappy computer with a crappy connection. I built a computer for CS:S and bought cable internet and then switched to mainly DoD:S play when it came out. I usually played about 2 hours or so a day, not much different than your average Joe who comes home and plops in front of the boob tube (old Americanism for television, if you didn't know) for a couple hours after work. Once in a great while I'd have a day long session when I had nothing else to do on a rainy weekend.

WoW changed all that. I belonged to a gaming forum and played on a certain server, and noticed some of the regulars weren't showing up. On the forum they were talking about this WoW game. I laughed at them for paying monthly fees to play a game, and went back to my CS:S. Then curiousity got the better of me, and I bought it. I bought six months worth to save the couple bucks, and let me tell you, it was hell. It started slow, then as I learned the game (it's very easy to learn) I started clocking major hours. I'm talking 50+ hours a week. This is on top of a 40 hour job and part time school. I would literally play until I fell asleep at my desk. I'd get 3-4 hours of sleep a day until my body couldn't take anymore and I'd have 20+ hours of sleep in a row and start the cycle all over again.

WoW is the only game (and hopefully will be the only game) I stayed up 24 hours in a row playing. That day I only got up to piss, shit, and bring food back to my desk. I came out of that six month play period with a damaged body, a damaged relationship, damaged everything. It took me a long time to set things right.

Then I did it again. "I'll only play an hour a day," I told myself. By the end of the week I was back up to my old levels of play. This time it was worse, because all I did was grind a priest to 60 (my second 60 out of 9 toons). It was horrible, more like work than play. I made it 3 months that time before I had enough, and uninstalled WoW. But I never deleted the toons...

I don't know what it is about the game that made it so addicting to me. It still is addicting, I'm still trying to convince myself to play when the expansion comes out.

I knew people that I played with, it's a lot better game when it's treated as an MMO and not a single player game. As far as "lack of challenge", I said the same thing before I got into it. All I'll say is that it takes more than 20 minutes and crafting some cloth armor to understand the challenges.

I mentioned Asians since if you look at for example japan you can easily see that the kids that play WoW there is HOOKED , and i mean REALLY hooked , there was a kid that died for gods sake! just played WoW and didnt eat for like 3 days or whatever and he died. THere is no similur action anywhere else. Im not a racist , i dont profile people , calling out stereotypes. If someone dont have the LUCK to get a job they find other stuff to do , crime , drugs whatever , alot of asians turn to computer/video games and since its so hard for them to make a decent living ( most of them ) without having to study your brain half to death they easily get hooked on stuff like WoW. Dude...just stop posting. If you knew anything about anything, you'd know that the Chinese WoW servers (6.5 million people play WoW) are seperate from US servers. There are a ton of farmers on US servers. THEREFORE, not all farmers are from China. When someone takes something they shouldn't have they are called a "ninja". Haha, gladly I've quit the game some time ago. I had played since the release with small ups and downs but usually less than 7 hours a day, yet I had much better equipment. :D
