She won a national fruitcake recipe contest several years ago and that's how she got invited to The Tonight Show. She was there to try and show Jay Leno how to make it and he kept making a mess and stuff she was saying was so funny that they started that "Ask the Fruitcake Lady" segment which they ran every now and then.
