I don't understand why you posted a link to that article - surely it just reinforces my point that "pwned" is a humourous use of a common typo (or accidental misspelling :roll: ).

They clearly have more knowledge of the origins than you, who had to refer to a wikipedia article for clarification. People still say owned, some other people say pwned. "15 year old internet nerds" tend to create fads/sayings/spellings out of the simplest of things. Take for example, "ZOMG".. I think that originated from one or two people probably accidentally pressing the "Z" button along with their -shift- button (they are next to eachother, as you will observe) in order to try and say, "OMG" or something.. probably people with fat pudgy fingers.. so there you have "ZOMG" another completely useless internet saying that comes seemingly out of nowhere.

I can't really think of many others off the top of my head... some people have taken up the habit of including a few ones in their exclamation marks, merely because sometimes when people try and do a whole heap of exclamation marks, they can miss the shift key a few times and it'll appear as 1 instead of ! .. although it seems hard to make this mistake, I guess it's possible for some.... and from this fad, some might even start typing out the WORD "one" next to their 1's and !'s... like... OMG!!11oneone!!11" ... this serves absolutely no purpose at all.
