The difference between the two is class. Dr. Phil, like or agree with him or not, has a certain amount credibility in society. He's put in a similar class as Oprah, not Gerry Springer. People like Maury and Montel fall somewhere in between.

Ty on the other hand is a punk on steroids version of Gerry Springer, with all the stops taken out. He has no class whatsoever that I can detect. The two are not in the same league, ballpark or even game. He makes Gerry Springer look like Jerry Fallwell.

A case can be made that Dr. Phil helps a lot of people through his shows by showing them that others have similar problems to theirs and how these problems can be dealt with. I see it as legitimate educational as well as entertaining programming. Does he need a show to help people? For that many, yes. You can't possibly reach the numbers of people he does without a show, and staying in private practice.

Is it about money? For both I think it's more about the game. With Ty it's about shocking as many people as possible that he can get away with. It's his way of "living on the edge". With Dr. Phil it's about helping as many people as possible through life's problems. The money is a separate issue and certainly not the only motivation.

Personal attacks already hm? It's alright. It's what most people do when they can't come up with a decent argument. I do realize that people come from other countries with job opportunities, as I stated. I don't care at all if they come here to support their family in Mexico or wherever, but I'm saying they shouldn't have the same privileges as an American citizen. I'm not being racist, but America is not a fucking charity.

They should accept what they get. If its not better than what they get in Mexico, then they should go back to where their family is.

If I fell under all those conditions (no income, opportunities, etc.), then I would, yes, go to another country and find a better paying job.
