The guy in the video was high on some sort of narcotic (one of those fun drugs where you become "invincible") and attacked the officers. I think he died as a result of complications from the drug.

That guy actually ended up dying. It was in Cincinnati, OH. He was high as a kite on drugs and booze. Of course the black people in Cincinnati called it police brutality and raised the race card but the black dude said every racial term under the sun.

It's hard to tell from the video whether the police officers were overdoing it or not. Maybe a tazer would have been better and it wouldnt have taken so much work, this video was recorded maybe before tazers came into usage, I'm not sure? This guy was making hard work of it to be sure, It's not clear from the video why the police officers were after him. It would have been better for him to have just done what they had asked. :(

Sure, it would have been lovely to have tazers at this time, except that with a drug/alcohol cocktail in his system, being tazer'd would have brought on his heart attack much sooner. Then you would have even more in-depth investigations into the officers for doing their jobs, and another bogus tazer-related death for critics to scream about. It would have stopped the situation far short of a beating, though.
