Is there any background to this?

Also, did it appear to anyone else that they did not have seatbelts on (or at least their top-half wasn't restrained)?

Um ouch. It's weird, I also wanted to know what the context of this was. Normally if it was a rally, they would be in crash gear and restrained. Was this just some dumb ass driving like a retard in his "rally" car?

When you see how violent the force was in slow motion, the passenger is very lucky to able to get up and walk out of the car. And yeah, where were the seatbelts?

Doesn't look like the WRC Championships, more like an Amateur Rally Club in the middle of a desert !. The guy on the right took the most impact !

no helmets and no airbags.
It`s on old vid, I think it was taken in East Europe, if you look at the bus.

When it replays in slow motion what is up with that scream? Wasn't there in the regular speed, although there was a brief whining. But the second one was a scream....

Good to see all the support the driver had form his buddy. That wasnt a scream that was just the airbag being deployed.

Ahhh. I guess all the levels were tamed down. I heard the sound before the slow motion, but in the slow motion it seemed more vocal. Maybe I'm just a little sleepy....

Josh85, i wasn't scared of it....just wondering if somebody thought to add it in. It seemed a little higher than all the other sounds, yet during the normal speed it seemed the same level. Either way....

Oh yeah. And his buddy jetting right after. Fucking hilarious.

Umm, Tilster, there was no airbag. Fuck, there was no dash! I don't even think there were any seatbelts. That big white thing you see is just the passengers white eind breaker. Amature rally racing and no helmet or belts, nice you fucking morons.

this video has been around for a minute. at least a year and a half i know. i have never figured out what the bus was doing on the road. if it was a rally event ameture or pro, the roads should have been closed. there never should have been any traffic on the road. unless the guys were just testing the car getting ready for a race, and doing it on open public roads, which is just stupid.

clearly the audi's fault.

i believe that it was not a rally, yet just some crack head trying to impress his girl, and ending up almost killing them both.

may i say i hope he cracked his nuts to prevent future imbeciles like himself.

If the driver lived. He went head first into that windshield and didn't wake up. Darwin at it's best...

I always wear a seatbelt. I was in one major crash where it did indeed save my life. I ended up with a fractured sternum because of it but I'm alive now.

This is a Hungarian video from 2003. The driver is an amateur rally car racer called György Németh, the co-driver is his girlfriend Ágnes Kiss (you can hear her voice after the crash trying to get help), the car is an Audi Quattro 90, and the bus is some old Ikarus. They were practicing for the next race on a public road.
They didn't suffer any major injuries, only a concussion.

there was an airbag of some sort, that white puff behind the girl isn't just her windbreaker and the noise is an indication that something had to have gone off. you can see how something comes out behind them and then when the drivers head comes to rest its on that bag as it deflates. also it looks more like the girls head is the one that hits the window, not really sure about that, but the way they were thrown around they're lucky their heads didn't smack together and crack both their skulls.

I watched it again. I see what you are talking about, but I still don't think that is an airbag. That is a amature rally car. Why would you go to all the trouble to strip the car down, including the dash and everything up front, and then leave an airbag in the back, not to mention, what airbag deploys from behind you?! If you are going to leave a functional airbag in the car, would it not logically make sense to leave the one that you might be able to use? I think it was just the seatback getting thrown forward, or some other crap in the back. As for the sound, a severed coolant line makes the same sound, TRUST me. I dunno, I could be wrong, just seems wierd to leave an airbag in the back. Makes no sense. Who cares though, it was funny that the idiots got hurt:xyxthumbs:
