There are 2 sides to this:
A) You have to be stupid to meet up with someone on the Internet without knowing they aren't fake. Its not that hard to spot fake profile.
B) It was a cruel prank to do to a "friend".

I will have to say I'm on side A for this one. I feel for the kid, it must suck. However, on the Internet there is no room to be stupid when giving out information and meeting with people. I can think of many times someone tried to meet up with me with a fake profile, and im sure its happened to alot out there.

But fake profiles are easy to catch. 1.) Few pics and low res 2.) Small amount of friends 3.) Lack personal of comments by friends, like "hey good to see you last night" or "hows the new job going". 4.) Look on their friends pages to see if they comment, if not its fake.

We work with detectives to find these predators out there. Its scary to know how many are just in our local area alone. Maybe this will help kids be more safe online. Its a new world out there, think and be safe.
