"Attacked"? Punished for irritating an elephant more likely.
Well on the plus side, he's got a great story he can tell: "and then there's the time an elephant tried to eat me."

if we play with these animals like that, sooner or later that will happen... it's all fun and games until someone loses an arm

Damnit, that looked painful as hell. I couldn't help but notice the handlers run in after the "attack" and start jabbing the elephant with hooks. The elephants probably get abused every day.

I really could have done without seeing it four times with the same camera footage.
But other than that I always thought Corwin was a pansy anyways. He got what he deserves.

I have volunteered at the local zoo and worked with African elephants (one zookeeper was killed there by the dominant male some years ago), I was told that their trunks can easily lift a ton, so imagine, that's 2000 pounds, Corwin was very lucky.

woulda been better if it had been Anderson Cooper...I can't stand that guy.
and what did he think was going to happen? would you stick your hand in a croc's mouth? an elephant uses it's trunk for the exact same purpose.
any possibility it was in musk and that made it angry? i don't know much about elephants, but i'd imagine unless you incited it, they are usually fairly docile.

You ever seen his show? He treats the animals, bugs, reptiles, w/e, like they're toys. He just bats them around. I say the dork deserves it.

People, Jeff Corwin is the man. This kind of thing is bound to happen now and then when dealing with wild animals.
