In America, prisons are expanding and becoming big business. People are not being rehabilitated in prisons, they go to prison to become better criminals.

Kinda like going to Criminal College. You go in as a young uneducated immature car thief and you come out a harden killer.

In California, the answer is to lock people up and throw away the keys. It's people storage. Put them away out of site and out of mind.

I think it's just the generations. As future generations grow smarter and wiser and higher up the economic latter, there'll be less violence and criminal activity. That is why minorities and foreigners make up the majority of the population in prisons even though they are the minority population. They are poor, not as educated, don't have the family support and don't know how to work the system provided for them. Their children and their children's children will integrate better into mainstream society.
