Sure he was good but that guy London (and no I know nothing about boxing) looked pretty crap to me. The only attempt he had at a punch in that whole vid was a bitch whack at 36s. Then he backed himself into a corner and got himself knocked the fuck out.
Also I wouldn't say it was ali's "speed" that was impressive but rather his grace.

Muhammad Ali - Record: 56 Wins, 5 Loss, 37 KOs.
Please allow me to disect the record of the so-called "Greatest Of All Time". Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali started his professional career on October 29, 1960, winning a six-round decision over Tunney Hunsaker (http://www.filecabi.net/wiki/Tunney_Hunsaker), who was the police chief of Fayetteville, West Virginia (http://www.filecabi.net/wiki/Fayetteville%2C_West_Virginia). His first notable fight was against an aged Archie Moore on November 15, 1962. Moore was 49, Ali was 20. He knocked Moore out in 4. I'd like to simply make note of some of his KO's. I'll start this list off with the more famous of his opponents in which he KO'ed. Sonny Liston [Twice], Floyd Patterson [Twice], George Foreman, Ron Lyle & Joe Frazier. That adds up to 7 NOTE WORTHY KO's out of his 37 career KO's. As far as the 1966 clip shown here, Brian London, whose career stats were 37-20-1, he should have made it look easy... plus it was the 3rd round when the KO occured. As far as today is concerned, Ali would be another flash in the pan. Another "Pretty Boy",who is also known to fight select opponents, run around the ring & although having quite a KO record, who's it against? Ali would be just another KO victim for the likes of Wladimir Klitschko (http://www.filecabi.net/od/records/a/wklitschko.htm), Oleg Maskaev (http://www.filecabi.net/od/records/a/maskaev.htm), Sam Peter (http://www.filecabi.net/od/records/a/peter.htm), Shannon Briggs (http://www.filecabi.net/od/records/a/briggs.htm) & Ruslan Chagaev (http://www.filecabi.net/od/records/a/chagaev.htm). Your ingnorance is mind boggling.
You make reference to Ali's first fight being against a weak opponent but isn't everyones?
Did Vld Klitscho fight David Byrd for his first professional fight?
No it was more like Bavid Byrd's concierge's cousin Pete.
And then you go on being unimpressed by Ali's ability to NOT get hit. Sure a lot of fighters can move... but a heavyweight?
The modern fighter that can probably best be compared with Ali would be Roy Jones Jr for his ability to really be a complete fighter and THE dominant force but even Jones is giving up 30 pounds to Ali so when you put all of those moves and grace with the power and effortlessness of Ali it makes it that much more impressive.
Not to mention the fact that there are so many great fighters today is as a direct result of Ali.
Ali fought schlubs because the level of competition didn't exist. He literally raised the bar and inspired generations to go out and compete at the highest level giving you your precious current bath of fighters.
But ask anyone of THE and they sure as hell wont be as dumb as you and say they could take Ali in his prime.

Only one punch actually landed clean and did the real damage, they look "fast" because of the shitty cameras they had then, which make everything looks streaked and distorted. Ali would get killed by any professional fighter today, and not simply just because of the juice and performance enhancers.. the sport has changed, just like any other. Same thing with gretzky, ruth, etc. They were all the best of their time, but nodays they would be smoked.

The funny thing about that quote is that Patterson, Foreman, Liston, Lyle, and Frazier would've raped Maskaev, Peter, Briggs, and Chagaev, lol. The only boxer out of that list that would win against some of those Ali opponents would've been Klit, I'm sure the big Ukranian KO's soft-chinned Patterson and Lyle, but with Klit's own soft-whiskers, he himself gets KTFO by Foreman, Frazier, and Liston. Man, are you on drugs? LOL!

Ok, now let's see the ONLY three good boxers Tyson ever faced...

Interesting question and cool fantasy match, Id say Bruce Lee, he knew so much more than boxing - it would end with one of those chest stomps or neckbreak. He was faster than Ali with both his hands and feet, not to mention that evil 2 inch punch. Bruce Lee was a freak. Just look at any clip however if Bruce Lee got in a boxing ring with Ali in a sanctioned boxing match he would be crushed.

Ali was the smoothest. He floated away from punches frusterating his opponents, did a lil' Ali Shuffle, and in the distraction flurried their asses to the ground.....also his wisdom as the creater of the Rope-A-Dope is just one example of his outthinking/outclassing his more threatening opponents.

Agreed. A great BIG man will always beat a great little man, it's rudimentary physics 101.
Besides, Bruce Lee himself admired Ali's own foot speed, he incoorporated that into his Jeet Kune Do philosophy.
Bruce Lee's best chance would've been to take out Ali's knees with his kicks, but one solidly landed punch on Lee's chin, and that would've lights for the Little Dragon for sure.

Bruce lee was 126 pounds Ali was 220 !!!
ALI would bust Bruce Lee Ass:1orglaugh:
Well like I said I agree Ali would crush Bruce lee in a sanctioned boxing match but if it were an anything goes match it would definitely be interesting.

CPYR... So he ducks five punches & he's GREAT??? I've seen James Toney do that a countless number of times. SO??? Your video proves that he can make "certain" opponents miss. SO??? *Insert Sarcasm Here* I'm sorry that I'm so wrong about Ali that it hurts. On any given episode of Friday night Fights I can see fighters bob & weave to make their opponents miss... & YES! FIVE consecutive times. I just don't see what's so great about Ali.
Have you not heard of one of the greatest boxers of all time? His name is Mohammad Ali, he's pretty good.
