Your right, I would hope we are all saddened for both the animal and the human but I understand that sympathy goes toward the innocence of the lion and not the abusive human who continuously beats and starves the lion to make it do the unnatural tricks it does in circus shows.

The human made the choice to risk his life so I am sadden by his suffering but that is his choice. My sympathy goes to the poor lion because his choice would to be free from the human’s endless abuse.

As for Siegfried and Roy they too knew the risks in that a genetically birth defected, inbred male tiger forced to perform unnatural physical tricks under threat of beatings and starvation can lead to such an incident. They publicly admit they have no ill feelings toward their tiger.
