I have no problem with legal immigrants. They come here, work, speak our language, pay taxes and contribute to the society and economy.

For one the majority of the people at these rallies are most likely here legally and are rallying for immigration reform so that they can bring their families here legally. If you actually talked to these people you would understand that the majority of them want to be here legally.

I challenge anyone out there who has a problem with Mexican Nationals being here to watch a movie called, "A Day Without A Mexican." Best to just pick it up at your local library as it isn't that great of a flick and I wouldn't exactly pay money to watch it. As for the immigration of the Irish, they to were going through government screenings before being allowed in the United States (i.e. Ellis island).

If any of you know anything about how the economy works, if we deported all the illegal immigrants, the country's economy would not collapse. Sure there will be a lot of jobs that other wouldn't want to do, but the fact of the matter is, such jobs wouldn't even put a dent in the economy, as food and labor is easily outsourced. Also, the United States would only need to extend there immigrant quota in order to fill such jobs.

Now I ask, what makes them so different, that they're allowed to come to the United States illegal, as opposed to someone who comes here legally. Yet, they did it legally. Why should illegals have a shortcut, when everyone else has to pay their dues? my family is Italian; we came to the US in 1978 with a temporary work visa.

I was 12, I didn't speak one word of English; my Father and my Mother worked day and night at a hotel to keep our legal work immigration sponsorship.

4 years later, we were legal residents no longer on a work visa; my Father has saved enough money to buy a TV repair shop that has been in business since 1958 and the owner was retiring.

He put me and my 2 siblings through college; I became a Police Officer, then a Real Estate Broker and for the last 15 years, I own my own business with a staff of about 100 employees (all legal) and I am currently living in an exclusive neighborhood in a custom built home with a wife and 2 newborn twin baby girls.

Not once since we've been here since 1978 did anyone in the family ask for Government Aid, Food Stamps, Social Security Income, etc. Even when my Parents were working at the hotel and making barely above minimum wage ($3.35 per hour at the time) to support us, did we ask for a handout or special treatment or documents written in Italian.

If history serves me right, the people in the new world that were getting taxed were British citizens. It was at the point that the British government decided to tax the hell out of the citizens in the new world (more so than those in Britain), did they then decide to ask for independence. It wasn't that the new world was tired of the British government, it was the point that the new worlds economy was growing and able to sustain a country of their own. Of course the British government saw this and decided to increase taxes.

So, no the people complaining are not a bunch of hypocrites. Non-citizens, not paying taxes, takes away from citizens and non-citizens who do pay taxes. The United States is a give and take country, not a take only country. If everyone decided to only take, in a very short time, there would be nothing left to take. you can't get a social security card if you are here in the US illegally.

An employer cannot pay you by check if you don't have a social security number because that also means you cannot be put on their payroll with an Federal Employee number;

if that employer was to pay you by check and you are an illegal alien without a social security number, that employer is going to get in trouble with the IRS and the INS.

you can't get a social security card if you are here in the US illegally.

you can't pay taxes to the IRS if you don't have a social security card and a social security number.

An employer cannot pay you by check if you don't have a social security number because that also means you cannot be put on their payroll with an Federal Employee number;

if that employer was to pay you by check and you are an illegal alien without a social security number, that employer is going to get in trouble with the IRS and the INS.

Before you try to rebuttal and call me ignorant, I tell you this: I am an employer of over 100 employees here in Texas for 15 years now and I require all employment applicants to provide me with a Social Security Card, A State Issued Driver's License and a Resident Alien Card or a Permanent Resident Card or a Valid Work Visa or a Certificate of U.S. Citizenship Naturalization.

If you don't have these, you don't work at my company!! It's that simple!!

This angers me more than anything I have ever seen on this site. Not because there hasn't been worse stuff, but because this in my own country. Cops are out of control.

I read a study in a Criminal Justice textbook about the quality of people that the law enforcement business attracts. There are two theories. One is that people that want to be cops are naturally power hungry bullys (more technical terms of course), the other is that power corrupts. I think that it is a little of both.

This is ridiculous, it is amazing that this hasn't gotten more media coverage.

The bill of rights is about protecting the rights of the individual you retard. We have the freedom and the right to peacefully gather and demonstrate our dissatisfaction with our elected "leaders" whenever we want, END OF DISCUSSION.
2) We do not live under a dictatorship yet, but it will be the uneducated, malleable, brainwashed, Kool-Aid drinkers like you who will eventually lead us there if the people of this country don't start taking it back.
Nothing assists a dictatorship more than a weak and ignorant populace who are willing to lie down and roll over any time the "police" tell them to.
3) Show your balls some respect and remove them so you can't contaminate the rest of the world.

It doesn't matter who the protesters are, or what they are protesting, as long as they do so peacefully, a free society should allow them to express their opinion. The problem highlighted here goes to the core of democracy and freedom in America - it is the tactic along the path to an authoritarian state to inflict random attacks and harasment on protestors and groups disliked by the rulers. This creates a fearful atmosphere, where legal protesting becomes risky in the minds of the people.

Perhaps even more shocking than seeing something like this in America, that is supposed to be "the land of the free", is seeing that many commenters don't see the importance of the protection of liberties and basic rights of protesters, even if you don't agree with what they're saying.

The issue here is not immigration, it is the threat to the foundations of democracy and freedom.

Journalism and has also studied law, those journalists, even though they are from the worst network 'FOX', do have immunity from the police, It was clear they were journalists, The camera person was not threatrening the officer, even by not moving the officer did not have the right the hit, with a baton. ?
